Vic Darchinyan
Our special guest and Australian-Armenian boxing icon, Vic Darchinyan, will be part of the day’s festivities with an autograph signing session. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to meet the Raging Bull in person!

MC – George Donikian returns to the Festival for a second time
George Donikian will be co-hosting the Armenian Cultural Festival for a second time, kindly taking time out from his busy schedule as anchor of the Ten Adelaide 5pm news. We’re honoured to have him part of the festivities yet again.

Free Shuttle bus service
A free shuttle bus service will operate on the hour, every hour, picking up from the bus stop on Penshurst Street outside Willoughby Girls High Tennis Courts (near the corner of Mowbray Road) and travel to Darling Harbour, Exhibition Place bus stop, southern end of Exhibition Centre. Kidz Zone
This year, the Festival has designed a special Kidz Zone to keep the kiddies entertained and the parents happy. There will be face painting (kindly presented by Mission Armenia) and an Armenian inspired creative art marquee for children under 12 years of age where budding artists have the option of either the modeling activity for $15 or the colouring in activity for $5. Parental supervision is required for children to participate.

Activities for young and the young at heart!
For those over 12 years of age there will be plenty of activities as well, including the bouncy boxing ring for aspiring boxing champions. For those more inclined towards ball sports, the basketball hoops might prove to be addictive. And chess players can put their strategies to the test on the giant garden chess tournament.

Food
There will something to tempt everyone this year at the Armenian Cultural Festival. Ani Restaurant will be providing mouth watering kebabs; there will be bastourma and boureg thanks to Café Birkenhead; and delicious juices direct from Armenia will be available for sale, include pomegranate juice.

Entertainment: A sneak preview
The Armenian Cultural Festival has been lucky with so much talent to draw upon in Australia. This year is no exception, with a diverse line up of performance that will keep you entertained all day. Highlights include a special fashion parade, Rivertribe, Edwin Safarian, our very own didgeridoo player, Nairi Choir, Sevan Dance Ensemble and the Armenian Sydney Dance Company and much more.

July 2007 Update

With Sunday 16 September 2007 only around the corner you might be thinking 'how can I get involved with the Armenian Cultural Festival this year?'. Here's 3 different ways to do just that:

With over 25,000 visitors at the 2005 Festival its a great place to get a huge amount of exposure. If you're interested in having a stall at the 2007 Festival the Stall Holders Kits are now available. To download the Kit click here.

May 2007 Update

Preparations for the Festival are in full swing

With all the surprises that spring has to bring…

As winter approaches and most of us go into hibernation, the Armenian Cultural Festival 2007 organising committee is gearing up and shifting into overdrive. The Festival will be a great way to welcome spring and shake off the winter blues so make sure you mark Sunday 16 September 2007 in your calendar!

April 2007 Update

The fourth Armenian Cultural Festival on Sunday 16 September 2007 at Tumbalong Park Darling Harbour is shaping up to be a huge event.

We're working on a host of new activities and attractions that the whole family will enjoy. One of the new additions that we're planning for the festival program is a fashion parade showcasing the creative talents and products of Australian Armenian designers and businesses. If you'd like to get involved or know someone who would make a great addition to the parade line-up contact Monica +61 402 621 842 or Sylvia +61 400 596 208. To find out what other surprises are in store you'll need to be there on the day!

We have had some very generous sponsors contribute towards the much needed financial support to make this year's festival a success. Victoria's Basement and Hyecorp Pty Ltd have both contributed as platinum sponsors. We have also had an anonymous donor. The festival would not be possible without the contributions of these sponsors - Thank you!

There are many more activities and ideas that need sponsors' support including the children's, teens' and adult activities, entertainment, information exhibitions and raffle prizes. If you would like to contribute to any of these please get in touch with Raffi +61 414 417 611 or Dickran + 61 403 530 150.

As you can see things are well on their wall to making this fourth festival a huge celebration!

March 2007 Update

After a two-year break, preparations are well underway for the 2007 Armenian Cultural Festival - Tumbalong Park Darling Harbour on 16 September 2007 is shaping up to be the place to be! Combining the best of past festivals with fresh ideas this will be a day to remember.

Hye Hoki is proud to present the new logo for the Armenian Cultural Festival - the iconic fruit of Armenia and symbol of prosperity ... our pomegranate.

The organising committee for 2007 is working on loads of new activities and attractions for the whole family. We welcome all to come and get involved in organising this community celebration.

Another component of the innovative approach to the festival is the new sponsorship prospectus which is now available - click here to download. Becoming a sponsor is another way that you can contribute to the success of the biggest event in the Australian Armenian community calendar.

A vital aspect of the festival are the stallholders. This is yet another way to be a part of the celebration. If you, or someone you know, is interested in having a stall at the festival, we want to hear from you.

So as you can tell, there's lots happening and there will be a lot more to come!
